ABOUT THE SOCIETY
The Society was formed in September 1999 especially for Streptocarpus (Cape Primrose) growers with small, medium or large collections. We welcome new members with a wide range of growing knowledge and experience. Members range from beginners with a few plants on their windowsills to expert growers with many years of experience. We are happy to help new members to increase their expertise and enjoyment of streptocarpus growing.
Founders: Frank Davies, Ken Jones
President: Lynne Dibley
The Society holds an Annual Show which is an opportunity for growers to meet each other and discuss topics of general interest.
The 21st BSS Annual Flower Show is being held on Saturday 16th July 2022 at Brownhlls Memorial Hall, Lichfield Road, Brownhills, Staffordshire
WS8 6HR from 9am
If you choose to become a member, three Newsletters a year will be sent to you. These contain useful hints and tips on growing, articles for both the general and the specialist grower and a members' page with short articles and letters. A Seed Bank has been set up for both Hybrid and Species seed and these are available free to members.

URGENT NOTICE FOR ALL BRITISH STREPTOCARPUS SOCIETY MEMBERS
Since we despatched our June Newsletter to members we have unfortunately, due to their increased work commitments, received the resignations of our Chairman and Secretary, Ian and Liz Davis.
I would like to thank them both on your behalf for their hard work and enthusiasm in carrying out their respective duties.
We will therefore need to elect and appoint a replacement for each post at the AGM on Saturday 16th July. The AGM follows the Annual BSS show which we hope will be attended by as many of you who can make it.
If you are interested in participating in the running of the society and would like to be considered for either the position of Secretary or Chairman, would you please email your details, e.g. name, address and membership number to the following email address.
We hope that you, like your existing committee members, will feel that this is a worthwhile society and deserves your support to encourage existing and new members in the cultivation of the beautiful Streptocarpus.
Roger Hine - BSS Membership Secretary
